Superb slide show. It tells the story with eloquence, love, and appreciation: for the grapes, the land, the people, the customs. Your hands were much more valuable holding the camera than they could have been picking grapes.
Thanks! Somehow the photos seem to have come out in a different order from the one I put them in, but I don’t think it matters too much. I did manage to pick a few buckets of grapes as well as taking photos!
How wonderful – my parents have just had their grapes sent over from Italy (along with half of London´s Italian´s and made their batch of red wine for the year)!
I remember the photos you shared of the vines just beginning to sprout, heralding Spring’s arrival. Now, the harvest and Fall is about to begin. How quickly Summer passed!

It’s a really beautiful time of year in the vineyards.
Yes, it’s wonderful and we were very lucky with the weather – it was clear and sunny but not too hot to work.
Oh I miss France… I can almost smell the fall air – grapes and apples… mmmmm… sigh… merci!
De rien! It’s all still here when you can get here!
La vendange comme si vous y etiez. Hard back breaking work, but so beautiful and evocative in photographs. Merci beaucoup.
