There’s something about living away from Wales that brings out the Welsh celebrations in me on 1 March! Tonight we’ll make a Welsh supper for our Occitan friends – there’ll be 14 of us in all in our kitchen – laverbread on toasts, salmon poached with fennel, cawl and Welsh cakes. I’ve printed menus in Welsh and Occitan. (I’ve also made aioli to go with the salmon because I can’t imagine a meal without garlic!)
Dydd Gŵyl Dewi hapus i bawb!
Polida fèsta de Sant David a totòm!
Happy Saint David’s Day to all!
Happy st David’s Day to you too. You’ve bought back some very happy memoreis of my grandfather who was from Mold and very proud of his Welsh Heritage and always ensured that we wore a little daffodil to school when we were little on this day. Enjoy your celebration 🙂
Happy St. David’s day – I’m sure your friends will be suitably impressed by the menu 😉
Happy St David’s day! Everything sounds delicious, have fun! 🙂
What a splendid celebratory meal for St. David’s Day! I hope you’ll post the recipe for the salmon poached in fennel sometime.
It sounds like your friends are in for a real treat. Happy St. David’s Day!
Happy St David’s Day – wish I had been there both to enjoy and learn of the food but also to make new friends and true 🙂 !
I hope you have a wonderful St. David’s Day and a fun celebration with your friends.
