Dydd Gŵyl Dewi Sant (Saint David’s Day)

There’s something about living away from Wales that brings out the Welsh celebrations in me on 1 March! Tonight we’ll make a Welsh supper for our Occitan friends – there’ll be 14 of us in all in our kitchen – laverbread on toasts, salmon poached with fennel, cawl and Welsh cakes. I’ve printed menus in Welsh and Occitan. (I’ve also made aioli to go with the salmon because I can’t imagine a meal without garlic!)

  1. Happy st David’s Day to you too. You’ve bought back some very happy memoreis of my grandfather who was from Mold and very proud of his Welsh Heritage and always ensured that we wore a little daffodil to school when we were little on this day. Enjoy your celebration 🙂
